Can You Put Blue Yak Wheels On The Back?

My home network diagram

Tonight I made a change to ' network architecture of the house and I had a hard time to remember with accuracy all interconnections, so I decided it was appropriate to make a minimum of order and describe all with a nice diagram. It 's amazing how much technology can find a home.
But first things first, starting from network interconnections:
  • Internet links 2 Mbit with Alice, even if the contract is 7 Mbit stubbornly refuses to go that fast, and I 'm tired of arguing with the 187;
  • Intranet on a single link cable up to 100 Mbit that connects the two routers, Network
  • WIFI handled by the Linksys router WRT 54 GS ;
goes on to describe the network equipment:
  • Router D-link G624T, as work to the Internet gateway and firewall main
  • Router Linksys WRT 54 GS , function as gateways WIFI network and firewall on the same network, there is also logged in the DMZ segment the NAS, and even my desktop linux "Bulldog"
now end with the apparatus: 1
  • NAS with a disc of 80 GB shared over a network mode FTP and SMB , used for backup, interconnected WRT router 54 GS and exhibited in private DMZ;
  • a Desktop PC All-in-One emachine EZ 1600, interconnected the D-link router on wired network ( Barcelona);
  • 1 PC Desktop Linux with Ubuntu 9.4 32-bit interconnected to the router WRT 54 GS on wired network ( Bulldob )
  • 1 Asus eeePC 701 4G with Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04, usually interconnected network WIFI ;
  • 2 PC Lenovo with MS Windows XP Pro, used for work and rarely used at home and the few times interconnected network WIFI ;
  • 1 PDA Palm Tungsten E2 with WIFI adapter , now rarely used but still perfectly efficient
  • 2 Smartphone Nokia (N78 and E71), used often in ways WIFI ;
you ask, but why a network so complex? Simple answer, the D-Link does not have a button to quickly turn off the WIFI part, and I had no intention of having the router WIFI always on and near the main station. Therefore it was decided to segment into two different networks, the first wired connected and controlled by the D-Link router that provides access to the Internet and is connected Barcelona which is the pc main house, the second network turns on only when needed and off when it ceases operation.
For those who did not understand "Buzzy" is my wife!!
The diagram was made with the precious contribution of Lovely Charts ;
