Today 20/04/2009 Oracle bought Sun Microsystem , the news is of historic significance can 'read in these two releases:

Honestly the news has left me shocked and unprepared, I read dozens of rss feed and had no got wind of this operation. I knew some difficulties Sun but I did not think it would come to that. Then with the passing of the hours I metabolized the news and I must say that there may also be an advantage. Considering improvements to the Oracle suite written in java , or the OC4J server, a JDBC driver always More formant , better integration with Solaris or Oracle versions of even more optimized to run on UltraSparc cpu . Or an entire operating system Oracle , innovative and able to melt Java, Solaris and Oracle Database.
We do not know what will happen in the future we only hope that Mysql not become a problem in this new structure. turned around Sun software as open source stop these projects, is definitely detrimental to growth and development of 'IT . constructive synergy between different actors, different technologies and different frames of reference, may lead to an enrichment for the benefit of all. The news is just a few hours ago and any further comment is surely superfluous.

Ubuntu 9.04 Coming soon
update comes a few Ubuntu 9.04, each time is a thrill. A release every six months is a challenge for both developers and for users who often take the opportunity to erase everything and start over with a clean PC, every time is a great adventure. Today this is much more a simpler time. Most of our data are now online, and what is not on the internet on the NAS is shared over a network. A good backup strategy ensures you do not miss anything. At home I have a real machine used to install each new version of Ubuntu that comes out, the 8:10 gave me problems with the recorder, we hope that the 4.9 does not suffer the same defect. Those who know me well storcerà nose reading this post, as this week, I gave Ubuntu 8.04 on my desktop at work in favor of Windows XP64, was not an easy choice and painless, but the company is still using too many products and tools windows and the way my work was likely to be slowed down too much by the fact that I had a very powerful machine linux and a notebook windows inappropriate to the situation, so with regret I changed grub to boot XP as default and again a few days work with this operating system.
Although I have already installed VirtualBox for us to turn in my beloved Ubuntu!!

Latitude & Nokia N78
Today for the first time since I installed Latitude I happened to really use it.
This morning I left home to do a bit ' of miles in the car and I left my wife at home. I left the pc turned on my iGoogle page with gadget Latitude in evidence on my position. I took the car and started on my Latitude Nokia N78, for greater accuracy I used the GPS of my now old TomTom Navigator , obtaining a good positioning accuracy. Well in the three hours I was away from home, I never called home, my wife knew Dov 'I was with a very good approximation and has prepared lunch knowing full well my times. Latitude is an exceptional instrument in the hands of intelligent people with a good relationship of mutual trust. I hope it arrives soon a feature to share its views on the most popular social network. Council everyone to try it is really a very useful tool.
