Today 20/04/2009 Oracle bought Sun Microsystem , the news is of historic significance can 'read in these two releases:

Honestly the news has left me shocked and unprepared, I read dozens of rss feed and had no got wind of this operation. I knew some difficulties Sun but I did not think it would come to that. Then with the passing of the hours I metabolized the news and I must say that there may also be an advantage. Considering improvements to the Oracle suite written in java , or the OC4J server, a JDBC driver always More formant , better integration with Solaris or Oracle versions of even more optimized to run on UltraSparc cpu . Or an entire operating system Oracle , innovative and able to melt Java, Solaris and Oracle Database.
We do not know what will happen in the future we only hope that Mysql not become a problem in this new structure. turned around Sun software as open source stop these projects, is definitely detrimental to growth and development of 'IT . constructive synergy between different actors, different technologies and different frames of reference, may lead to an enrichment for the benefit of all. The news is just a few hours ago and any further comment is surely superfluous.
